Middle East, Metalwork. Transluscent buffalo hide with an upturned rim, decorated with a central medallion and borders of gold lacquered floral and chevron ornament. There are six conical brass bosses with cusped edges and red fabric washers securing a knuckle pad and woven baldric. Iran; Islamic arms and armour. Inter-departmental transfer to MES, RF 2011/1170.
